Inclusive Excellence - Student Initiatives (IE-SI) leads the University in cultivating equitable opportunities and experiences to empower underrepresented Bobcats while educating the diverse student body to thrive in an evolving global society.

Equality U is a diversity and inclusion conference that brings individuals together to participate in a day of dialogue and features national speakers.

An opportunity for you to engage in authentic peer connections, explore and understand how identities impact individual relationships, groups and social dynamics, and prepare you for success in a global society.

(IE-SI) Programs

Inclusive Excellence offers a variety of programs for students at Texas State University. Each are opportunities to expand their awareness and engage in meaningful dialogue centered on diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA).

IE-SI’s programs are rooted in social justice, intersectionality, anti-oppression, and asset-minded to assist in the development of students’ skills and competencies. Our goal is to contribute to student’s equity-minded practices so that they may co-create a more equitable and just society and world.

Student Resources

IE-SI strives to support current Texas State students by offering services and meeting spaces to work on projects and assignments. We offer two study rooms, a multipurpose room, conference room, and much more.

Student Organizations

Chartered & Registered Student Organizations


Chartered student organizations are held to a higher standard with higher expectations than other student organizations. Texas State University has over 400 active student organizations on campus and ranging in mission, purpose, and goals. Inclusive Excellence is proud to serve as home for a number of these chartered and registered organizations. 

Texas State | Birthplace of TRIO

Created by the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 and the Higher Education Act of 1965 signed on the Texas State Campus by our most famous Alumnus President Lyndon B Johnson, TRIO is a set of federally funded college opportunity programs that motivate and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds in their pursuit of a college degree.

More than 900,000 low-income, first-generation students and students with disabilities are served nationally. Within the state of Texas, TRIO serves over 62,000 students.
